Set up the automation
Fwrd runs when Apple Shortcuts hands it a text. You create one Message automation that passes each matching text to Fwrd, and it forwards that text to every active destination. Fwrd can’t create the automation for you, so this is the one step you do in Shortcuts.

Choose which texts to forward
Use Message Contains with a word that appears in the texts you want, such as code, verification, or delivery. It catches texts from short codes and unknown numbers, which the Sender option can’t, because Sender only offers your Contacts. If you set both, a text has to match both.
To forward every text, leave Message Contains empty or type a single space. Only do that on purpose: every text that arrives will go to every active destination.
On iOS 26
Open Shortcuts and tap Automation at the bottom.
Tap +, or Create Personal Automation if this is your first one, and choose Message.
Tap Message Contains and type your keyword. Tap Next.
Choose Run Immediately and turn Notify When Run off. Tap Next.
Tap New Blank Automation, then Add Action. Search for Fwrd and choose Forward Message to All Destinations.
Tap Message in Fwrd’s action and choose Shortcut Input, then its Message property. Tap Done.
On iOS 27
iOS 27 folded automations into shortcuts, so there’s no Automation tab and no Run Immediately screen. The pieces are the same; they just live in a different place.
Open Shortcuts. Automations are now saved as shortcuts, and they’re listed under Library → Automation.
Create a new shortcut with +. If it opens a summary first, tap Edit.
Tap Automation and choose Message. Set Message contains to your keyword. The trigger appears as the first step: “When I receive a message where Message contains …”.
Below the trigger, add Fwrd’s Forward Message to All Destinations.
Tap Message in Fwrd’s action and choose Shortcut Input, then its Message property.
Set the automation to run without asking. Apple lists Message among the triggers that can. If a notification asks you to run it, this setting is the reason.
For Email, Another Phone, and WhatsApp
These three need one more step. After Fwrd’s action, add Apple’s Send Email or Send Message, or WhatsApp’s own Send Message, and set its message to the blue Fwrd Result. That action does the sending. Each guide has the exact fields: Email, Phone / iMessage, and WhatsApp.
Test it with a real text
Send Test Message in Fwrd proves your destination works, but not the automation. For that, send a harmless SMS with your keyword from a different phone and check it arrives. Then lock the receiving iPhone and send another. After a restart, unlock the iPhone once before relying on forwarding: until then, iOS keeps Fwrd’s saved destination details locked away.
Turn it off
On iOS 26, open Automation, choose the automation, and turn off Enable This Automation. On iOS 27, find it under Library → Automation and turn it off there, or remove the trigger from the shortcut. Turning a destination off in Fwrd is separate: the automation still runs, and Fwrd skips that destination.
