What teams forward
- Login codes for a shared account that only offers SMS, so whoever is on shift can sign in.
- Delivery, courier and booking texts that the whole team needs to see.
- Alerts from equipment or services that can only send a text message.
- Texts to a business number that lives on one iPhone.
Set it up on the shared iPhone
- 1Add the team’s channel in FwrdCreate an incoming webhook for a Slack channel or a channel webhook in Discord, and add it in Fwrd. Each takes a few minutes and the guides show every tap. Telegram groups work too, though we’ve only tested a personal Telegram chat.
- 2Create a Message automationOn iOS 27, open Shortcuts, tap Library, then Automation, then +. If you see Describe a shortcut, tap Edit. Tap Automation, then Message. On iOS 26, open the Automation tab, tap +, and choose Message.
- 3Forward only what the team needsType a word the right texts contain, such as code or delivery. Make a separate automation for each kind of text if they don’t share a word.
- 4Let it run on its ownMake it run without asking. On iOS 27, tap the arrow on the trigger and check Confirm Before Run is off. On iOS 26, choose Run Immediately and turn off Notify When Run.
- 5Add Fwrd’s actionSearch for Forward and add Fwrd’s Forward Message to All Destinations. Tap its Message field and choose Shortcut Input (on iOS 26, Shortcut Input, then Message).
- 6Test it with the teamSend a test text to the shared number and check it appears in the channel, with the phone unlocked and then locked.
Good to know before you roll it out
- Fwrd forwards the message text exactly as it arrived. It doesn’t send the sender’s number, the time, or any pictures. In a team channel, nobody can tell which number a forwarded text came from, so pick keywords that keep each channel to one kind of text.
- Every matching text goes to every active destination on that iPhone. To send different texts to different channels, use a second iPhone or keep one channel per phone.
- Anyone in the channel can read the texts. Keep codes in a private channel, and think about customers’ personal details before forwarding them to a wide group.
- Only the shared iPhone needs Fwrd. Teammates just read the channel.
- The iPhone that receives the texts has to stay on and online. After it restarts, unlock it once before forwarding works again.
Which team chats are tested
Slack, Discord and Telegram are tested end to end on a physical iPhone, unlocked and locked. Microsoft Teams and custom webhooks are offered in the app but not yet tested that way, so run your own test before the team relies on them.

Questions about forwarding to a team
Can a shared iPhone forward its texts to a Slack channel automatically?
Yes. Fwrd posts each text that matches your Shortcuts Message automation to the channel’s incoming webhook, from the iPhone, without anyone opening the app. Slack is one of the destinations we’ve tested end to end on a physical iPhone, unlocked and locked.
Does everyone on the team need Fwrd?
No. Only the iPhone that receives the texts needs Fwrd and the automation. Everyone else reads the channel in Slack, Discord or Telegram as usual.
Will the channel show who sent the text?
No. Fwrd forwards the message text exactly as it arrived, without the sender’s number or the time. Most code and delivery texts name the service in the text itself.
Can the team reply from the channel?
No. Fwrd forwards in one direction only. Replies still go from the shared iPhone itself.
Do we need a new phone number?
No. Fwrd uses the number already on the shared iPhone. There’s no virtual number, no Fwrd account and no server holding your texts.
How is it priced for a team?
There are no seats. Fwrd is free for up to 15 forwards per calendar month. Pro removes the limit for $3.99/month or $29.99/year, with a 7-day free trial on the annual plan for eligible customers. One subscription on the shared iPhone covers the whole team.
