Can You Read Your Texts Online at Verizon, AT&T or T-Mobile?

By Fwrd · · Updated

Mostly no. Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile accounts show who texted you and when, not what the texts said, and the carriers’ own web texting apps for iPhone users are gone or limited. To read the words, use a Mac or iPad on your Apple Account, or forward new texts to an inbox or chat you can open anywhere.

What you need: your carrier sign-in to see the logs. To read the texts themselves in a browser, the iPhone that gets them, on iOS 26 or later, with Fwrd and an email or chat account.

Can you see the content of your texts in your carrier account?

No. Each carrier’s account shows a log of texts, with numbers and times, but not the words. Here’s what each one says on its own support pages (checked October 17, 2026).

  • Verizon. Its usage download page lists what text logs hold: when each message was sent or received, how many, and the sender or recipient numbers. It adds that Verizon keeps only the last 3 months of usage detail per device. Verizon Cloud doesn’t help either: its FAQ says synced messages aren’t viewable on its app, its website or My Verizon, and can’t be synced from iOS devices.
  • AT&T. Its usage page (last updated March 24, 2026) says text usage shows the numbers, the type of message, and the time, and that “No one on your account can see the content of your text or video messages.”
  • T-Mobile. Its usage page lets you view message usage per line in the T Life app, or download up to a year of records from T-Mobile.com on a postpaid account. Nothing on that page shows what the texts said.

On iPhone, the logs miss iMessages too. AT&T says iMessages use Wi-Fi or data and won’t show in text logs.

What happened to Verizon Message+ and AT&T Messages?

They’re gone. Verizon’s Message+ page says “The Message+ app was discontinued in December 2024” and points iPhone and iPad users to Apple’s Messages. AT&T’s shutdown page (last updated May 10, 2024) says it was sunsetting AT&T Messages for Tablet and Messages Backup & Sync by the end of 2024.

T-Mobile still has DIGITS. Its DIGITS page says the web client is free for postpaid lines and runs in Chrome or Edge. T-Mobile also says texts you send from your phone don’t show up in DIGITS, and iMessages don’t sync there, so on an iPhone it shows only part of a conversation.

What each carrier shows online

Carrier What you can see online Can you read the texts?
Verizon Text logs with times and numbers, last 3 months of detail No
AT&T Text logs with numbers, type and time No, AT&T says nobody on the account can
T-Mobile Message usage per line, up to a year of records Not in the account; DIGITS web client for postpaid, without iMessages

Your bill is no different: it lists texts as usage, not their words.

How do you read your texts online instead?

Use Apple’s Messages on a Mac or iPad, or forward new texts to something with a website. Can you read your iPhone texts online? covers the Mac, iPad, iCloud.com and Windows options in full.

For texts in any browser, forward them as they arrive. A Shortcuts Message automation runs for messages that arrive in the Messages app, iMessages included, and hands each one to Fwrd. Fwrd posts it to Slack, Discord, Telegram, Microsoft Teams or your own webhook itself. For email, it hands the text to Apple’s Send Email action, which sends it from your Mail account. All of those open in a browser.

It’s the best fit when you want new texts online without a carrier app:

  • No account, and no Fwrd servers. Texts go from your iPhone to the inbox or chat you choose.
  • Eight destinations. Email, another phone or iMessage, WhatsApp, Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, and your own webhook.
  • Filters on every destination keep only texts with your words, verification codes, or texts at certain hours.
  • The price. 15 free forwards a month, then $4.99 a month or $29.99 a year in the US.

Set it up to read new texts in your inbox

  1. Add email in Fwrd. Open Fwrd, tap +, choose Email, type your address under Recipient Reference and tap +. Tap the tick to save. The email page explains the rest.

  2. Create a Message automation. On iOS 27, open Shortcuts, tap Library, then Automation, then +. If you see Describe a shortcut, tap Edit. Tap Automation, then Message. On iOS 26, open the Automation tab, tap +, and choose Message.

  3. Choose which texts to forward. Choose Message Contains (on iOS 27, change Sender to Message) and type a word your texts share, such as code. A single space forwards any text with a space in it.

  4. Make it run without asking. On iOS 27, tap the arrow beside the trigger and check that Confirm Before Run is off. Under ⓘ, then Privacy, check that Allow Running When Locked is on. On iOS 26, choose Run Immediately, then tap Next and Create New Shortcut.

  5. Add Fwrd’s action. Search for Forward (on iOS 26, tap Add Action first), add Forward Message to All Destinations, and set its Message to Shortcut Input (on iOS 26, Shortcut Input, then Message).

  6. Add Apple’s Send Email. Add it below Fwrd’s action, set its Message to Fwrd’s output and Recipients to your address, type a subject and turn Show Compose Sheet off, as the email guide shows. Tap back to save (Done on iOS 26).

  7. That’s it. New texts with your word now go to your inbox on their own, with the iPhone unlocked or locked, ready to read in any browser.

What forwarding can’t do

  • No old texts. Only new texts that match the automation are forwarded, from the day you set it up.
  • The iPhone stays on and online. After a restart, unlock it once; an iPhone that isn’t unlocked for three days restarts itself.
  • One way, text only. You can’t reply from your number through the forward, and pictures stay on the iPhone.
  • Your own line only. It runs on the iPhone that gets the texts, set up by whoever holds it.
  • Email counts as a forward. A text handed to Send Email uses one of the 15 free forwards a month, because Fwrd can’t see whether it arrived. A text your email filter skips uses none.

Questions about carrier text records

Can I see my text messages on my phone bill?

You can see that texts happened, not what they said. Verizon and AT&T list texts as usage with times and numbers, and AT&T says iMessages don’t show in text logs at all, because they use Wi-Fi or data.

Can I read my Verizon texts on a computer?

Not through Verizon anymore, because Message+ was discontinued in December 2024. Verizon points iPhone users to Apple’s Messages, which runs on a Mac signed in to your Apple Account, or you can forward new texts to an inbox you open in any browser.

Does T-Mobile let you text from a browser?

Yes, for postpaid lines, through the DIGITS web client in Chrome or Edge. T-Mobile says texts sent from your phone and iMessages don’t sync to it, so it won’t show a full iPhone conversation.

How far back do carrier text logs go?

Verizon keeps the last 3 months of usage records per device, and T-Mobile lets postpaid customers download up to a year. Older bills still list texts only as usage, never the words.

Want your new texts somewhere you can open online?

Fwrd adds one action to a Shortcuts automation, so matching new texts go to email, Telegram, Slack and more, ready to read in any browser. Start with 15 free forwards each month.

Free for 15 forwards a month. Pro removes the limits on forwards and filters and adds a Never Forward list, for $4.99/month or $29.99/year, with a 7-day free trial on the yearly plan for eligible customers.
